Say Hello to Brenda Dyer

I live on beautiful Vancouver Island, off the coast of British Columbia with my husband, two teenage boys, two miniature horses–both boys–chickens and three cats–two of which are males. Hmmm, a lot of testosterone flying around my house.
I’ve been an avid reader of romance since I was a teen and always dabbled in writing, but not seriously until 2007. From the moment I sat at my computer and starting writing my first novel, I was hooked! My idea of the perfect day is my coffee, my computer and the company of my character’s speaking to me–directing my hands.

You can find me on facebook. New friends always welcome!

Here she is… Ruth Seitelman

Hi, my name is Ruth Seitelman. I live in Northern New Jersey with my husband. We have three grown children and two grandchildren. With everyone on their own we remain a close family and enjoy getting together when everyone’s schedules coincide. When we gather it is certainly a lively dinner table and we wouldn’t change it for the world. I am a seasoned professional with over twenty years of writing experience but not necessarily in writing romances. No, I have been writing internal communications and marketing documents for a large corporation.

I love reading romance, all genres, and have dreamed of writing them since I was a teenager. I read stories about young women with whom I could identify. Okay, with whom I dreamed I could identify but isn’t that what romances are all about? The stories have been wonderful but I admit that I find it harder to connect with the young heroine today.

This past year, encouraged by my friends and family, I gave way to my inner muse, let my creative juices flow and began writing a paranormal romance novel with a heroine that is strong, independent and more mature as well as a story that includes the qualities I love in a romance. I know I am not alone. There are many romance readers like me. A major publisher is interested in my first book and as I patiently wait for their response I am writing the next book in the series.

When not writing I can be found reading, cooking, doing Sudoku and counted cross stitch. Together with my husband, we enjoy ballroom dancing and, with New York City close by, going to the theater. I am also beginning to like the gym, just don’t tell my husband.

I feel strongly about women’s issues and helping where I can. I am a Trustee and on the Executive Board of Shelter Our Sister (SOS), Bergen County New Jersey’s only shelter for victims of domestic violence. I am active on the public relations and technology committees. I am a frequent guest speaker at various functions around Bergen County speaking on behalf of the Shelter.

Welcome Michael Matthews Bingamon to our ranks.

Michael Matthews Bingamon was born 1968 in Illinois. Both his mother and grandmother were avid writers and creative writing was a fond hobby of his starting around the third grade. After graduating high school Michael wandered across the country for a couple of years and lived in New York, California, and northern Michigan before returning to Illinois.
In 2002 Michael turned his childhood hobby into a passion and wrote a science fiction novel entitled Savage Worlds that was a combination survival story and coming of age tale for a group of teenagers stranded on a harsh planet. It was published in January of 09 and he has since wrote a short story for Breathless Press called Who’s the Boss? while trying his hand at fantasy as well.
Michael is married to Denise and they have a wonderful son, Christopher, who is a United States Marine. Michael and Denise enjoy the movies and horseback riding.

A History would like to introduce Karenna Colcroft

Karenna Colcroft has written stories since age five. In 2006, she began writing erotic romance in answer to a challenge from a friend. Since then, she has written over a hundred short stories. In 2009, she began her publishing journey, and as of the beginning of 2010, has three e-book releases and two more releasing in January. Karenna lives in New England with her fiance, two daughters, two cats, and a fish.

Let’s all welcome Shiela Stewart to A History

Raised on a rural farm in Saskatchewan, Shiela Stewart relied on her vivid imagination to fill her days. Never did she realize that her need to tell a story would someday lead to becoming a published romance author. In the fall of two thousand and six, Shiela published her very first book and hasn’t stopped since.
When not writing, Shiela spends time with the love of her life, William and their three children. She has a strong affection for animals which is evident in the five cats, one dog, three turtles and ten fish she owns. Some of her passions aside from writing are drawing and painting and proudly displays her artwork in murals in her home.

Her favorite time of day is sunset, and she loves to stargaze.

Here She is… Raynene Burgess

I live in Columbia, SC with my parents and my poodle (Fifi), originally growing up in south Florida and moving to SC in 2006. I’ve been married and am divorced since 1999, being now happily single. I started writing devotionals in 1988 and moved to contemporary romance in 2000, when I realized that I could write my own romance stories, too, instead of just reading them. I’ve been managing editor, contributing editor and publisher of several Christian newsletters over the years. In 2002 I published my first Christian devotional, “Good Morning, Father!” through PublishAmerica. In 2006 I published my first contemporary romance through the same e-pub. I currently have several projects going and am writing like crazy and submitting my newest manuscript, “Killer Designs” to e-pubs and agents.

Now let’s meet Carey Abbott

I live in Houston, Texas with my husband Jeff and two cats, Mac and Zoey. I have been an avid reader since I was a young child. It has always been my escape from the stress of everyday life. As a reader I have always loved romance and horror. The first time I picked up a paranormal romance I was hooked. It combined my two favorite things romance and horror. It was romance with a dark twist. I am a sucker for a strong alpha male, tall, dark, and dangerous. How could any woman resist that? One day I was reading and thought, I have read so many of these books I could write one. That’s when I decided I was going to write a paranormal romance. I am currently writing my first novel. (A Vamp To Remember). I have been inspired the most by Larissa Ione and Gina Showalter. They are two of my favorite authors. All I can say as an aspiring author is if you dream of writing go for it. Shoot for the stars. We are only limited by our own imagination. When you let your imagination run free you would be surprised what you can accomplish.

Please welcome Abbey MacInnis to A History

Abbey has always been a sucker for a good love story. She’s been a reader for nearly all of her life. When she first decided to make an attempt at writing down the stories and characters vying for her attention, she had no idea how quickly she would fall in love with the writing process. It’s been a while since then, but since that day, she’s discovered what she’s meant to do – creating heartwarming and passionate romance, and characters to fall in love with. She lives in south east Michigan with her family and black Lab, who, along with friends, give her all the love and support in the world, and sometimes, inspiration with their adventures.

Our first Author is… Me-Meet April Dawn

Love of the Written Word.
Hello, my name is April Dawn. I live in California with my loving husband and a beautiful baby boy who was born in ’08. I enjoy reading, travel, and music. I have always loved to read. I have read voraciously for more than twenty years now. (OOPs, guess I’m showing my age there.) I have a love of suspense, fantasy, PI and police crime novels, and so many others, but I have a real soft spot for historical romance.

I think I wrote my first official romance scene when I was about fifteen or so. It consisted of a girl being taken aboard a pirate ship and falling madly for the captain. I wish I still had that writing, because it would be real fun to read what I wrote like back then. I started writing seriously in 2002, and finished my first novel that year which retained the title “Romance Novel” for more than five years. Now titled Bound by Love, and available through Breathless Press. I have since finished two other novels that were lucky enough to be named something other than “Romance Novel”. My current work in progress, The Piratess, stars a female pirate named Cat.

In the future, I hope to be able to bring more of my characters into the world as I work to finish and publish the other novels that I have begun. Stay tuned to meet all the pirates, gunslingers and thieves that run through my head. Hopefully you will love them as much as I do.

At this time I have about fifteen novels in the works, and enjoy the lives of the characters so much that I am sure I will finish them all within the few years. I am currently in the process being published, and hope that I will have release information coming soon for some of my novels.

Watch for Bound By Love -Jan 29th 2010- and Crushing Desire -Feb 12th 2010- from Breathless Press.

Visit my website or personal blog or find me at twitter, facebook, or myspace.

I hope you enjoy the posts.
